The movie features a tracking dog named Blue. In I guerrieri (1970), there's a scene where the soldiers are resting in a field, while Harry Dean Stanton's character plays the harmonica and sings a song about a dog named Blue. Richard Davalos is also present in that scene. Kelly's Heroes also stars Telly Savalas, who was at one point considered for the role of Dragline.
