(at around 55 mins) In the flashback scene in which the Guardian finds 9 year old Sarah in 1973, we don't see Sarah's parents whom are only mentioned. A nod to Terminator (1984), in which we don't see Sarah's mother, and only her voice is heard (the T-800 mimicking Sarah's mother's voice when Sarah talks to him on the telephone), and her father is never mentioned. In the original timeline, Sarah's father was a Vietnam War veteran who deserted his family.
