In 1986, there were reports that Shashi Kapoor was going to direct a film titled "Extravaganza" along with Russian actor,director Rolan Bykov. The film was based on the myths of The Arabian Nights. The film was going to be about King Ahmed. A man who escaped imprisonment and came to India to win the hand of a princess. The project was called off.
