According to actress Kris McQuade in the Australian DVD featurette, the sex scene was cut for the film's Australian theatrical release so as to garner the movie a lower classification rating. According to the Australian Office for Film and Literature Classification, the movie was originally rated M [= recommended for 15+] on 01/05/1983 and was then rated PG on 01/09/1983. The movie is rated M on DVD in Australia, in line with the version which included the sex scene, the scene being included in the Australian DVD release.
