Although the first time that the word "Sith" is spoken was in Star Wars: Episodio I - La minaccia fantasma (1999), the term was yet conceived in the 1974's rough draft of Guerre stellari (1977), but it was rejected in the final script. Later works in the de-canonized Expanded Universe (renamed as Legends) in 80s and 90s years as Timothy Zahn's The Thrawn Trilogy incorporated the word, prior to Star Wars: Episodio I - La minaccia fantasma (1999).
