The famous arched intersection of Windward and Pacific, the heart of Venice, CA, still exists largely as photographed. It had been dressed with location specific props to resemble a Mexican border town (like Tijuana). It's now a collection of restaurants, souvenirs shops, trendy boutiques and other establishments. Parts of the action take place near what would be today's bustling Boardwalk, while in other scenes, a bridge over the Grand Canal (named for its Italian counterpart) can be glimpsed. Today's Venice Beach retains some of the risque atmosphere of this film.
