Early in the film, Uncle Felix asks a black busboy about the meaning of the word 'catastrophe.' The busboy's perfect answer, citing the Greek derivation, is one of the few depictions of a person of color that is not derogatory or demeaning in a classic Hollywood film. This passes notice, however, in most discussions on the film.
