Some of the film's plot relies on improbable coincidences. Towards the end of the film, Sunny Starscout has located two of the crystals needed to complete a magic spell, but has no idea where to find the third one. Shortly after, Sunny realizes that the third one is located in her own home, as it was one of the artifacts she had inherited from her father. Which means she had owned it for years without realizing it.
