When Eddington takes off in the Navy PBJ on his suicide mission he taxis out from the ramp sitting in the copilot's (right) seat. As the plane takes off, the stunt pilot can be clearly seen sitting in the pilot's (left) seat. In Eddington's remaining flight scenes he is back in the co-pilot's seat. While flying the aircraft from there is a possibility that is only done with two pilots in the cockpit sharing flying duties. Eddington takes the co-pilot's seat for no apparent reason except that is the way the shot was staged.
