The Region 1 VHS release of this film was the only "South Park" VHS ever distributed by Paramount. At the time of the film's release, the home video rights to the TV series were owned by Rhino Entertainment, and would later transfer to Warner Home Video which released the first two seasons on DVD. Following Viacom's purchase of Time Warner's stake in Comedy Central, Paramount assumed video rights to the series, and re-released the first two seasons on DVD, eventually releasing all currently-existing seasons on DVD and Blu-ray. However, Paramount never released any episodes of the TV series on VHS.
