Fans have noticed the similarities between Dr. Strange and Iron Man: both men were incredibly narcissistic scientists until a major injury forces them to take instruction from a character of Asian descent. Fittingly, Robert Downey, Jr. and Benedict Cumberbatch have both played Sherlock Holmes. This makes it even more fitting that Cumberbatch plays a doctor, since Holmes was modeled after a real-life doctor, Joseph Bell.
