Based on the Broadway play "A Sound of Hunting" that opened at the Lyceum Theatre, 149 W. 45th St. on November 20, 1945 and ran for 23 performances. Although the play had a short run, Burt Lancaster, who was in the role of Sgt. Mooney, was "discovered" and from there went to Hollywood to make his first film, I gangsters (1946).
