In the documentary Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy (2010), screenwriter Mark Swift revealed Kia's original final stand involved her telling Jason she wasn't afraid of him anymore in the way Nancy stood up to Freddy at the end of Nightmare - Dal profondo della notte (1984), not realizing this would have no effect on him. Freddy then taunted her by saying "Wrong one, bitch" before killing her.
