Despite being considered a reboot that nullifies the existence of Terminator 3 - Le macchine ribelli (2003) and Terminator Salvation (2009), the final film resembles the plot of the proposed sequel to Terminator Salvation, with the exception that Judgment Day has reverted back to 1997 as opposed to 2004.
