The Cliffside Park amusement park in New Jersey references the actual Pallisades Amusement Park that was located in the boroughs of Cliffside Park and Fort Lee. Opened in 1898, it was closed in 1971 by eminent domain - a victim of its own success and grossly inadequate parking to accommodate the crowds. The site is now the location of several high-rise apartment and condominium towers.
