In her being nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in this film, Sally Kellerman lost to Helen Hayes for Airport (1970), and in fact was the only one of the nominees in the category that year who would never appear in one of the "Airport" movies; the other three nominees were Hayes's co-star in the original film Maureen Stapleton, Karen Black who would star in the sequel Airport 75 (1974) (nominated for Cinque pezzi facili (1970), and Lee Grant who would appear in the all-star cast in the next film in the series Airport '77 (1977) (nominated for Il padrone di casa (1970)).
