When the family first arrives at the farmhouse, a tall, symmetrical stack of books is near the living room window. In Ghostbusters (Acchiappafantasmi) (1984), symmetrical book stacking was a sign of paranormal activity. It shows Egon's spirit attempting to make contact with the living.
