There are several connections to the James Bond world in this movie. Director Guy Hamilton also directed the Bond movies Agente 007 - Missione Goldfinger (1964), Agente 007 - Una cascata di diamanti (1971), Agente 007 - Vivi e lascia morire (1973) and Agente 007 - L'uomo dalla pistola d'oro (1974). Barbara Bach and Richard Kiel both starred in La spia che mi amava (1977) as a love interest/adversary and henchman, respectively, Robert Shaw played Red Grant in A 007, dalla Russia con amore (1963) and Edward Fox played "M" in the unofficial Mai dire mai (1983). Michael Byrne would also go on to play Admiral Kelly of the HMS Bedford in Il domani non muore mai (1997).
