While films such as Matrix Reloaded (2003) and La passione di Cristo (2004) had earned well over $100 million by the end of their first full weekend of release, those movies had opened wide on the Wednesdays before the official opening weekend; 'Deadpool' only had some 7 pm to 10 pm screenings before its Friday wide release.
