Huckleberry Fox and Troy Bishop, who played Emma's sons, got very good reviews when the movie came out. Their characters' deathbed scene with Emma is routinely cited as the best scene in the movie, possibly one of the best deathbed scenes ever. However, they were not cast in Conflitti del cuore (1996), even though they were the right ages for the roles.
