The large snakes in the film are supposed to be "green anacondas" (Eunectes murinus), the heaviest type of snake in the world and one of the longest. The term "anaconda" also applies to three other known species of snakes: the yellow anaconda (Eunectes notaeus), the darkly-spotted anaconda (Eunectes deschauenseei), and the Bolivian anaconda (Eunectes beniensis).
