When the younger Estella infiltrates the Baroness' party, John quickly spots her and tries to remove her. At first it seems he is merely enforcing the no-children rule, but it's later revealed that her distinct black-and-white hair allowed him to recognize her as the Baroness' daughter, whose life would be in danger if detected by the Baroness.
