According to Ronny Yu in a interview for Fangoria magazine, he said during the "Demon Freddy" scene, Freddy's face "explodes and expands in a really cool way and you see lots of stuff explode out, like the faces of the past victims, all of Freddy's demons, all kinds of sick stuff."
