Rodrigo Santoro, Reynaldo Gianecchini and Marcio Garcia were considered for the role of Kira's love interest. Santoro was Xuxa's personal choice for the part, while Giannechini turned it down due to scheduling conflicts. After the casting proved difficult, the role ended up cut from the film.
