Cinderella arrives at the palace at 11:30 p.m. To accentuate the shortage of time before midnight strikes, the resulting ball sequence is told almost entirely through music. The "Gavotte" leads briskly into "Ten Minutes Ago", "Stepsisters' Lament", "Waltz for a Ball", and "Do I Love You Because You're Beautiful", with only occasional segments of dialogue between the numbers.
