The smashed Gibson SG, is obviously led to believe was one smashed by The Who guitarist Pete Townshend; representing an elite gift for a young billionaire. Besides being just a vintage guitar specially smashed to be used as a prop in this film, it is also an odd duck. Pete Townsend used more recent models with the larger chrome-covered humbucker pickups, yet this SG has the older "PAF" (patent applied for) single coil pickups with black plastic covers. Not only that, but there are four of these pickups; two being more or less attached to the guitar, and two others floating to the right and left. The guitar only came with two pickups although an ambitious person could install a third with custom wiring, but there would not be room for four pickups.
