Although there was a dog named Station Jim that was brought to Slough Station in Slough, Berkshire, England on the Great Western Railway as a 3 month old puppy in 1894 and was put to work performing tricks to collect money for the railway's Widows and Orphans Fund, the BBC movie dog and story line are not based on the true story.
