Marian's auburn-wig on one scene is a nod to her characters in-game sprites from the late-80s who had long auburn hair (blonde hair in the cutscenes and illustrations). 20 years after the film, the character Dante in his critically panned reboot DmC: Devil May Cry (2013) would also wear a wig on one cutscene that resembles his best-recognized original counterpart.
