This is the last Iron Man film distributed by Paramount Pictures as part of a multi-film deal between Marvel Studios and Paramount. The Walt Disney Company purchased Marvel for $4 billion in 2009 and subsequently purchased the distribution rights to future Marvel Studios releases The Avengers (2012) and Iron Man 3 (2013) from Paramount for $115 million the following year, with the Paramount logo remaining at the beginning of those films. In July 2013, Disney later purchased the complete distribution rights of Iron Man (2008), this sequel, Captain America - Il primo Vendicatore (2011) and Thor (2011) from Paramount for an undisclosed sum, making it the final transaction in Disney's ownership of Marvel.
