When Nell (Lili Taylor) & Theo (Catherine Zeta-Jones) first arrive at the house, they wander the corridors admiring the artwork on the walls. They stop at a sculpture depicting children reaching towards heaven & Nell tells Theo she was in purgatory for 11 years, to which Theo replies "oh yeah, I've been there. It's an 18 hour flight from L.A. to Paris" in reality, the flight is more around 10 or 11 hours. Sydney, Australia to L.A. is the longest flight in the world at around 18 hours & she meant to say that.
