The movie mentions the "older model" Nexus 8 Replicants a few times, which is the line that Sapper Morton (Dave Bautista), Mariette (Mackenzie Davis) and Freysa (Hiam Abbass) belong to. They are a generation of Replicants produced by the Tyrell Corporation shortly after the events caused by the Nexus 6 Replicants in Blade Runner (1982). The movie never mentions what Nexus 7 Replicants are, and what became of them. However, Rachael's serial number starts with 'N7', which stands for 'Nexus 7' (in Blade Runner (1982), all Nexus 6s' serial numbers correspondingly started with N6). The Nexus 7 series was hallmarked by implanted memories and the ability to procreate, but never went beyond a few prototypes, which included Rachael and a Replicant called Isobel who featured in the comic series 'Blade Runner 2019'. At the start of the movie, all Nexus 7s are unaccounted for.
