When Debbie finishes transforming into a cockroach inside the Roach Motel, it is actually Brooke Theiss in the cockroach makeup/costume, as revealed in the TV documentary The Making of 'Nightmare on Elm Street IV' (1989). According to Theiss, the entire sequence was easy to do; the only difficult part for her was when Debbie pushes her roach body up and sees Freddy's eye looking inside because of how slippery the floor of the set was.
