In the film, Hitch Trailblazer is the sheriff at Maretime Bay. He is well-liked and respected by most of his residents, but several scenes imply that he is not that good at his job. During an emergency, Hitch pays more attention to a passerby who is littering than the approaching intruder. After rescuing a child, Hitch randomly hands it to a stranger, assuming that they are related due merely to their proximity on the street. The protests of the stranger fail to convince him otherwise.
