The Hollywood film K-PAX - Da un altro mondo (2001) has a very profound effect on Rajkumar Hirani's films. The effect can be observed in his previous films like Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. (2003), Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006) and 3 Idiots (2009), and the movie PK is also substantially inspired by K-PAX.
