Josh Holloway was offered the role of Gambit, but turned it down, as it was too similar to the role he was then playing on Lost (2004). Consequently, the character was written out, though Gambit showed up in X-Men: le origini - Wolverine (2009), where he was played by Taylor Kitsch. In 2014, it was announced that Channing Tatum would play the character in future installments of the franchise.
