Exterior shots of the scenes set at an "airplane graveyard" that serves as the crew's base were filmed at the Mojave Air & Space Port in Southern California. In real life the space port holds over 1,000 functionally obsolete aircraft - mostly domestic commercial airliners, albeit in extreme heat much of the time that would likely render it unsuitable for a secret base of operations.
