The movie shows that the rescue capsule went down to the mine empty. Miners got themselves into the capsule one by one, and the last miner to go up was Luis Urzúa ("Don Lucho"), who stays alone in the mine at the end. This is not exactly true. It was reported that six rescuers went down into the mine in the capsule to help the miners get in the rescue process. When the capsule went down into the mine for the first time, one of the rescuers, named Manuel González, was inside, taking a huge risk since he was the one who actually tested whether the capsule worked or not. Mr. González was also the last to go up to the surface. Even though it is true that Urzúa was the last miner rescued, Mr. González helped him get in the capsule and waited for the empty capsule to go down again. So he was in fact the only person who spent time alone in the mine and the only person who got into the capsule by himself.
