In the show, John Cameron Mitchell sings the song "Rose's Turn" and Matthew Sim sings "Lydia the tattooed lady". Both songs are sung in the movie La leggenda del re pescatore (1991), which shares a dreamlike tone with the series. In the film, "Rose's Turn" was sung by Michael Jeter and "Lydia the tattooed lady" by Robin Williams.
