This movie marks the debut of the character Robert "Rocky" Balboa Jr. to the series. The character would be played over six out of seven films by Seargeoh Stallone, Ian Fried, Rocky Krakoff, Sage Stallone and Milo Ventimiglia respectively. As of 2021, Ventimiglia is the only actor to date to play the role more than once in both Rocky Balboa (2006) and Creed II (2018).
