Some fans believe that the trilogy of Season 11 episodes "Imaginationland" are the sequel to the movie. These three episodes, released in 2007, were later edited into a direct-to-video movie, South Park: Imaginationland (2008). It was rumored that an actual sequel to South Park - Il film: Più grosso, più lungo & tutto intero (1999) was being planned as late as 2011, but nothing came of it. Trey Parker and Matt Stone have said that if a sequel were to be made, it would likely be the series finale.
