The movie was filmed under the title of 'Captive Hearts'. The name was changed to 'Fire with Fire' just before its cinema release. The reasons for the name change of title were two-fold: (1) The new title was considered more exciting and descriptive (2) The new title enabled a marketing and music video tie-in with a song with the same name of "Fire with Fire" sung by pop band 'Wild Blue'.
