While closing the portal, two Ghostbusters rescue the other two by pulling them back from the "other side." While being pulled through, their hair turns white, a phenomenon sometimes reported by people who have had paranormal experiences. This also is very similar to the scene where Carol Anne is rescued in Poltergeist - Demoniache presenze (1982).
