A direct to DVD sequel to this film exists and is called Dancing Ninja (2010). In 2008, Sony announced the film with the working title "Tokyo Jones: The Legend of the Dancing Ninja", later called "Beverly Hills Ninja 2" and then "Dancing Ninja". Written and partly directed by Mitch Klebanoff (co-writer of "Beverly Hills Ninja"), and starring David Hasselhoff and Lucas Grabeel, the story involves an orphaned boy who wants to be a ninja but becomes involved in a crime in Hollywood while looking for his real parents. The film was to have a May 2009 release but was held until 2013 due to issues in and after production (including Sony backing out of the film).
