When Mattie sits in the bus just before her professor tries to put himself in its path, behind her is a bearded student, an extra. Repeated views of the film will find him appearing a total of three times in three different scenes: first in the school front yard, then in the bus, and one more time in a computer lab. This is an intentional effect to add to the paranoia of the ghosts following you around wherever you go.
