When the trailer (and movie) were revised to remove images resembling photographs by Ana Mendieta, also removed was a shot appearing to recreate Gina Pane's 1975 "Death Control," an image of a woman's face covered in dirt and maggots. A shot resembling Claude Cahun's 1936 "Self-portrait (in cupboard)" remains in the film.
