On the commentary, Patrick Wilson notes he always liked in the Friday the 13th movies when Jason would walk casually after his victims who would be running at full speed and still be able to catch them. For this reason he chose not to run after Hayley near the end, instead, he casually walks around his house looking for her. Naturally, Elliot Page is doing the ch-ch-ch-ah-ah-ah while Wilson is saying this.
