Thors new weapon "Storm breaker" is in part based from Marvels "Ultimate" comics line. In which the Avengers, were known as the Ultimates, an the series version of Thor, wielded a weapon just like Storm Breaker. That particular comic series is also the reason Samuel Jackson was cast as Nick Fury.
