When the film shows American Infantry walking, they are pictured way too close together. In reality, infantry are taught to walk 5 meters apart and staggered so that if they are targeted there is no clump of bodies to be shredded by machine gun fire or explosives. When crossing open areas they would be walking in a very wide wedge formation, not clumped up close together.
