In the film it is stated that the troll is a king trying to return to his castle. Before the mid-credits, and at the end of the ending credits music, a piece of music can be heard: "I Dovregubbens hall" (In the Hall of the Mountain King), pertaining to 'Peer Gynt, Suite No. 1, Opus 46', the orchestral music composed by Edvard Grieg in 1875.
