Robert De Niro's on-and-off girlfriend in the 1970s, Diahnne Abbott, appears as the concession girl in the porno theater near the beginning of the film who seems to be aloof to Travis Bickle. She has another cameo in New York, New York, (1977) in which she sings Fats Waller's song, "Honeysuckle Rose". She also played the object of De Niro's affections in Scorsese's, The King of Comedy (1983).
